Job Qualifications 1.) High School diploma or GED. 2.) Proficiency in keyboarding, knowledge of Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.), and filing. 3.) Personality traits and personal qualities to work with the public and coworkers. 4.) A background or familiarity with farm practices is desired. 5.) A valid driver’s license, must be insurable and have a safe driving record.

Duties and Responsibilities 1.) Serves as Receptionist to the District and NRCS Office. Answer telephone calls and meets the general public in a courteous and helpful manner.

2.) Types correspondence, conservation plans, newspaper copy, various reports and other material necessary for the operation of the Office.

4.) Maintains accurate time and attendance reports for all District employees.

5.) Maintains files according to established systems. All files are to be purged each January.

6.) Receives, assembles, and dispatches mail.

7.) Performs other related duties as requested by supervisor.

8.) Prepares District Board meeting packets and distributes these to the Board in advance of the meeting.

9.) Attends Board meetings and takes notes, assembles, and distributes all regular and special meeting minutes.

10.) Assists with planning and preparation of Annual Open House/ Meeting .

11.) Assists with the preparation of District’s special activities such as: field days, tours, educational meetings, tree sales, fish sales, fall school tours, fair booth, etc.

12.) All duties and actions taken by the incumbent of this position while on official duty will be performed in a safe and healthful manner and will be of a nature to reflect favorably on the Williams Soil and Water Conservation District.

Supervision The position is under the daily supervision of the District Administrator. Offers suggestions for improvement in administrative procedures covering clerical activities. Training for the position will be provided by the Supervisors; the Division of Soil and Water Conservation Resources; Ohio Department of Agriculture; and the Natural Resources Conservation Service personnel.

Performance Review Performance of each duty in this position will be evaluated against the requirements developed for your position. A formal performance review will be conducted with the employee as described in the approved Employment Policy . Your performance rating is an overall evaluation of your performance in the judgment of your Supervisor. During this review, career opportunities along with items concerning the employee’s professional growth and employment are discussed.

HOURS OF WORK: This is a 24-30 hour per week position and office hours will be flexible as scheduled.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary range of $10-$13 per hour commensurate with education, experience and budget restrictions. Employee is eligible to participate in Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), Annual Leave, Sick Leave and Holiday Leave as described in the Williams SWCD Employment Policy.

About the position: The General Laborer position is responsible for assisting the crew on the job site with any and all manual labor tasks. This includes but is not limited to pipe-laying, hand-digging, laser leveling, maintaining and operating heavy equipment, and driving trucks (sometimes with trailer).
A CDL is not a requirement to start but must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Archbold Refuse Service


Delivery personnel/shaggar
Must have clean driving record, geographical knowledge of the local area, and positive attitude. Position will be responsible for removing and delivering carts and containers to customers, as well as helping on the refuse trucks when needed. Must be able to operate truck and trailer with equipment loaded.
